Summary of June 2016 –
This month was a weird mix of prepping for the 2nd half of the year and enjoying all the rewards from the hardwork from the first few months of 2016. I did a bunch of tour dates (see the vlog below for more info) and booked a 2nd DVD record in August [please come].
I gained about 30 new email addresses for my mailing list, which doesn’t sound much, but 1 per day is pretty good. I also wrote some new jokes which was awesome as I was getting a little tired of just doing the same 10-15 around the place. I also got booked for more paid future work than I’ve ever had before. It’s a great feeling when you get a sense of momentum in your working life.
The main thing I’d improve on is saving money and trying to have a life. I managed to get one evening off to myself every 2 weeks and only really managed to get out and enjoy myself socially once (and that was spontaneous). I need to have more of a life. The balance has to be there or I’ll have nothing to write about and to butcher a classic quote “All work and no play makes Simon a dull boy”.
