Monthly Report – July 2016

Summary of July 2016 –

This month rushed past me. It does every year. Not sure if it is because it’s the month before Edinburgh or because it’s just the month in the middle of the year and so you start looking forward to the 2nd part of 2016, but either way it moved WAY too fast. I got loads done (see the bullet points below). I’ve never felt so motivated and productive. It has been one of those “shit or get off the pot” kind of months where I’ve found myself finding the late nights and work fun and more exciting than ever.

I am excited about the Edinburgh Fringe next month. But still haven’t planned any of it. Usually I’d be all over it like a pig in shit. But my own prep has taken over. I’ve managed to organise over 20 pod recordings which is great, if a little overwhelming (just the thought of all that editing is worrying, but I’ve specifically booked trains instead of driving to a load of gigs in Sept / Oct so I can get tons of it done). This kind of thinking ahead is really helping me get more stuff done. I have honestly not felt so proud in a long time.

The final tour date for July saw some people come watch me from Twitter and YouTube. This is the dream and really exciting as well as humbling. It means I am becoming “discoverable” and by the right people. So with any luck that continues. It’s a long road, but it’s the little wins along the way that make the hard work worth it.
